About
Invisible Buildings is an interdisciplinary design studio located in Oakland Ca.
The company’s founder, James Lagoc, is an interiors and environments designer currently working on commercial and hospitality projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Since receiving his bachelor's degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1997, he has steadily worked his way through the industry, and in 2006 founded his own company, Local Produce Design (now known as Invisible Buildings).
Throughout his design practice he has consistently maintained a streamlined and curated design philosophy built around materiality and craftsmanship. A prime example of this is Nopa restaurant in San Francisco, which will be celebrating its 15 year anniversary in 2021.
Since the opening of Nopa, James Lagoc has continued to implement these design principles in unique and interesting project, from a locally owned ice cream shop - Bi-Rite Creamery - to popular music venues like the Independent and the Fox Theater.
Thanks for spending some time with us, and we look forward to hearing from you.
